Ethics Policy

At thedesertsafariindubai.com, we believe that a great experience is built on more than just adventure. It is built on trust. This Ethics Policy sets out the principles and standards that guide how we operate, how we treat our guests, how we work with our partners, and how we represent the culture and environment of Dubai. Every member of our team and every partner we work with is expected to uphold these standards.

Our Core Values

Everything we do is guided by the following principles:

  • Honesty – We represent our tours, prices, and services accurately and truthfully. We do not make promises we cannot keep or use misleading descriptions to attract bookings.
  • Safety – The wellbeing of every guest is our highest priority. We will never compromise on safety standards to cut costs or increase capacity.
  • Respect – We treat every guest, partner, and community member with dignity, regardless of their nationality, background, religion, or travel style.
  • Responsibility – We are accountable for the experiences we deliver. When something goes wrong, we own it, address it, and work to prevent it from happening again.
  • Sustainability – We recognise that the desert is a fragile and irreplaceable environment. We are committed to operating in a way that protects it for future generations.
  • Fairness – We apply consistent, transparent standards to how we price our tours, manage bookings, and resolve complaints.

Honesty in Marketing and Descriptions

We hold ourselves to a strict standard of accuracy in everything we publish – on our website, on third-party booking platforms, and across our social media channels.

  • All tour descriptions, itineraries, inclusions, and prices on our website reflect what guests will actually receive. Any changes are updated promptly.
  • We do not use stock images or staged photographs to represent experiences that guests cannot realistically expect.
  • Customer reviews and testimonials published on our website are genuine and unedited. We do not fabricate, selectively remove, or incentivise positive reviews.
  • If a tour is subject to conditions – weather, minimum group size, seasonal availability, those conditions are clearly communicated at the time of booking.

Guest Safety and Duty of Care

Safety is not a policy checkbox at The Desert Safari in Dubai it is a core operating principle.

  • All vehicles used for dune bashing and desert transportation are regularly inspected and maintained to the standards required by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA).
  • All drivers and guides hold the necessary licences and certifications required to operate desert safari activities in Dubai.
  • We set and enforce passenger limits on all vehicles and activities. We will not exceed safe capacity under any circumstances, including during peak season or high-demand periods.
  • Guests are provided with clear safety briefings before all high-activity experiences, including dune bashing and sandboarding.
  • We maintain the right to cancel or modify any activity at short notice if weather conditions, equipment, or safety assessments make it inadvisable to proceed. In such cases, guests will be offered a full refund or an alternative arrangement.
  • Any safety incident is reported, documented, and reviewed internally within 24 hours to prevent recurrence.

Fair Pricing and Transparent Booking

We believe guests deserve to know exactly what they are paying for, with no surprises.

  • All prices displayed on our website are inclusive of the services listed. Any optional add-ons are clearly identified as such during the booking process.
  • We do not apply hidden charges, undisclosed booking fees, or last-minute price changes after a booking has been confirmed.
  • Cancellation and refund terms are clearly stated at the time of booking and applied consistently to all guests.
  • We do not engage in dynamic pricing practices that unfairly inflate costs for returning visitors or guests booking through specific channels.

Respect for Culture and Heritage

Dubai’s desert is not just a landscape – it is a place of deep cultural and historical significance. We take our responsibility to represent and respect that seriously.

  • Our guides are trained to present the history, traditions, and culture of the UAE with accuracy and pride. So we do not trivialise or sensationalise local customs for entertainment purposes.
  • Traditional experiences offered at our camps – including falconry, henna, and Arabic coffee are conducted respectfully and with the involvement of knowledgeable local practitioners.
  • We do not use costumes, props, or staging that misrepresent or demean Emirati culture.
  • Guests are briefed on appropriate behaviour and dress code expectations before and during cultural experiences at our camps.

Environmental Responsibility

The desert ecosystem is fragile. We are committed to minimising the environmental footprint of every tour we operate.

  • We follow all routes and guidelines approved by Dubai’s environmental authorities for desert safari activities. So we do not venture into protected or restricted zones.
  • We enforce a strict no-littering policy at all times. Therefore, all waste generated at our camps and during our tours is collected and disposed of responsibly.
  • We actively work to reduce single-use plastic in our camp operations and are transitioning to more sustainable alternatives across our food and beverage service.
  • We do not offer, promote, or partner with any experience that involves the exploitation, mistreatment, or unnecessary stress of animals. All animal interactions, including camel rides, are conducted within guidelines that prioritise animal welfare.
  • We are committed to progressively reducing the carbon impact of our vehicle fleet and exploring lower-emission alternatives as they become available in the UAE.

Our People and Partners

We hold our team and partners to the same ethical standards we set for ourselves.

  • All staff receive training on customer care, safety, and the standards outlined in this policy before they begin working with guests.
  • We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behaviour from any staff member toward a guest, and equally, we do not tolerate abusive behaviour from guests directed at our staff.
  • We work only with partners and suppliers who share our commitment to safety, honesty, and responsible operations. Moreover, we conduct due diligence on all third-party providers before recommending or including them in our tours.
  • We do not accept or offer bribes, kickbacks, or undisclosed commissions in any business relationship.

Conflicts of Interest

All staff and partners must declare any personal or financial interests that could—or could appear to—influence the services they provide or recommend to guests. Therefore, they must disclose and appropriately manage any identified conflicts of interest. The company will subject staff to disciplinary review if it finds undisclosed conflicts that affect business decisions or the guest experience.
